What if you could wave a magic wand and instantly begin living your ideal life?
What would it look like? What would you be doing?
How would you feel?
Dr. Christi Hegstad loves watching people light up as they answer this question. She delights
even more in helping them make it a reality! Since founding MAP Professional Development Inc. in 2003, Christi has passionately pursued the art of designing meaningful careers and purposeful lives. Who knew work could be so much fun?
MAP stands for meaning and purpose, two elements that often seem lacking (or missing altogether) when it comes to career development. But as Rabbi Harold Kushner says, "Burnout results not from hard work - people are capable of working very hard - but from a sense of futility, the fear that all the hard work isn't making a difference." We all need to know our work - paid or unpaid - contributes to our purpose, our communities, and the world at large.
When she's not training or coaching, you can usually find Christi: 1) savoring a big mug of coffee, 2) reading a phenomenal book, or 3) trying to keep up with her three children. (Note: #1 and #3 often occur together!) She now makes her home in Ankeny, Iowa - though she's told her Minnesota accent has stuck with her. Feel free to contact Christi with your feedback and questions.
